WaveLab - Newbie Zone

Installing WaveLab

Back to the Newbie Zone

Now that you have undone the shrink-wrap you might as well start the installation process. Insert the WaveLab disc and the install should start automatically. If it doesn’t, navigate to My Computer and double click the WaveLab icon. At this point you should see this window:

Click anywhere near the middle of the window and the install will begin. You will first be prompted to choose preferred installation language. After this you will see a welcome dialog and if you just continue following the prompts and accept the license agreement, you will get to this screen where you can choose the installation directory for WaveLab:

Choose the appropriate directory (the default location is usually fine) and hit next twice to begin the install

Press Finish and as a default the release notes will be shown and WaveLab will be launched automatically. Once WaveLab opens you will be prompted to enter some information including your serial number, which can be found on a sticker on the sleeve for the install disc.

Though you may still be prompted to register with Pinnacle at this point, you can skip this process as at least at the time this was written (early 2006) all registration must be done directly with Steinberg* by either sending in your registration card to:

Steinberg
11711 N College Ave. Suite 190
Carmel, Indiana 46032

or faxing it to Steinberg US registration at 317-844-7986.

*With WaveLab 6, registration is at www.Steinberg.net.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed WaveLab. Time to get started. But first remember to keep your disk and the sleeve with the serial number in a safe place. Not only because you may have a reason to install again in the future, but also because you will be prompted to insert the original disc in the event that you update or upgrade WaveLab.
