After updating or uninstalling WaveLab CD/DVD drives disappear from My Computer in Win 2K/XP.

Sometimes the uninstall process does not remove the registry entry. WaveLab needs a filter driver to work correctly with these OS. If the driver is not available on the hard disk but is still listed in the registry, Windows removes the drives from "My Computer".

To fix this do the following:

1. From the windows "Start" menu choose "Run" and type "regedit" to open the registry key.
2. Browse to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3. Double-click entry "Upperfilters" and a new window showing values opens.
4. If after uninstalling, ASAPI and the Upperfilter value is still listed, delete the Upperfilter value manually.
