Hello All,
I am trying to connect the XF to a laptop, and it is not working.
I recently upgraded my laptop to Win 8 (64 bit). Prior to that, I never tried connecting XF to it, so dont know if any of the hardware ever had an issue…

the instruction says, I should change the midi in/out setting on XF to USB, then save.  connect the devices, and restart the motif
that is supposed to make the laptop detect the device, and I am supposed to be able to run the driver install.

What is happening is, it does not detect the XF. trying to install driver tells me that the device is not connected. what is next? please advice,

AFAIK, Windows 8 is still not tested to work.

I did some more testing...it seems that the issue is with the win 8 , not the motif…
That is big relief!!!
I got my motif used...so was worrying whether my motif has any issue.
I connected it to a win 7 desktop, and it finds the keyboard.
Now, it is about win 8 detecting the motif…
If I figureout the USB issue with win8, I will post…

ok, so seems like Win8 is not the culprit. It is able to detect other devices just fine.
Problem is the Yamaha XF driver compatibility with win 8.
It is not able to detect the device on win8.
seems like I got to wait until yamaha releases a compatible driver
