Using cubase LE4 on a Mac with Snow Leopard 10.6.2.

After bypassing the initial installing hick-up that cubase LE4 had with Snow Leopard, cubase has been running top notch on my system with the exception of processing audio events.

When selecting an event, an attempting to apply any sort of processing feature (fade in, fade out, etc.) I receive the following message:

-The project contains events that use the same audio material as the selected! Press 'New Version' if processing should apply only to selected events.

Pressing continue or new version at this screen to process the effects cause cubase to immediately crash and deliver the following:

-Cubase LE quit unexpectedly; and the report contains the following:
-Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
-Codes: KERN_Protection_Failure 0x0(16)

The preview feature works perfectly on previewing the audio processing effects that have been taking place, but I have never been able to bypass cubase crashing when attempting to process the effects.

I know that steinberg has delivered the 4.1.3.853 hotfix to resolve crashing when using audio mixdown or freeze functions, but the hotfix information specifies that for a MAC the only thing the hotfix contains is a resolution to the installer issue, which I do not have complications with.

What's my next move?

-Thanks for your time

Hello,

First, please shut down Cubase. Go to Mac Hard Drive, Users, your user name, Library, Preferences. Trash all of the Cubase or Nuendo folders that you see inside of the Preferences folder. This will trash your key commands, preferences, sound card settings, etc. It also should clear up the problem you are having. Restart Cubase. You will need to reset your audio outputs (Devices, Device Setup, VST Audio System). Thank you.
