Hi
i am a total newby and somewhat technically challenged. i'm connecting a Yamaha 01v96 sound desk to Cubase Ai through a RME HDSP 9652 optical card. the automation between the mixer and Cubase works but when recording, i get no signal through to the channel in Cubase. Also it seems you can only record one track at a time. I need someone to draw me pictures on how to do the routing between the mixer and Cubase and how to link the input to the track. i tried going through the manuals on all equipment but they don't make much sense to me - the examples are all for different setups than what i've got. Thanks

Hello,

The routing in Cubase is controlled from Devices, VST Connections. Inside VST Connections you can set the possible inputs and outputs for the project. Then each audio track in the project can be set to the possible inputs and outputs.

Thanks for the reply Chris. I seem to miss the bit where you can link each track to the inputs and outputs, exactly where do i find that? i've linked the the hdsp in device setup as well as in vst connections.

Hello,

I would suggest going to Help, Documentation, Getting Started, and going through Tutorial 1. This will show you step-by-step how to set your VST connections and then how to select them on the audio channels. Thank you.
