LE1 Sync issue

I'm having an issue with LE1 on startup
a pop up display states that LE1 failed to produce reliable sync information - how do I fix?

Also having difficulty controlling VST/Midi Instruments via my M-Audio (USB) keyrig 25?

I'm running on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop w/ MS XP Home, Intel Solo Core Processor. Using the Inspire GT
