This will make sure the audio track goes into record when you start rolling. Activating the pre-count and click will give you time to prep. I have controlled my studio from a laptop via remote desktop, so this is definitely possible. You will want to run a pair of headphones to the room you are recording in as a way to monitor. Check out Microsoft's website about how to set up remote desktop and you will be ready to record!
