Hi Brian, and thanks for the response. Let me start from the beggining. I'm using a Tascam DM4800 digital console with an IF-FWmkll fire wire card. I was having an issue with the remote section only recognizing channels 9-32 as oppossed to 1-24. I called tech support and they talked me thru the issue ( all I had to do was reset my ports 5,6,and 7 and BAM!, I was all hooked up ). The tech. then went on to explain some of the other features in remote mode, setting controlls on the board using the devise setup in Cubase. Again all went well. I then attempted to add my own settings in device set up using mackie controll #3 as instructed. I can't remember what setting i was using, but I can say that it did not wirk out. I then went and removed the setting as well as the one created with the techs help and that seems to be when all went bad. I removed the connection from the board to the computer, but still the same problem. I called tech support and explained, and they told me it was not a tascam issue, and they did not know the problem. The board ,when connected works fine, and i can monitor Garageband, as well as iTunes, and any other audio/Video on line etc. the only issue is cubase 4 crashing when i try to do move my curser, press stop..after play etc. The program will let me into Devices and such without crashing. No other software was loaded prior to this. since then i've re loaded OSX 10.4, and cubase 4 from original discs. Now I have two operating systems...( I'm so confused ). OH, Even when I just open Cubase and the only thing showing is the transporter, when I click play,it locks in play yet nothing moves, and when I press stop, the green play arrow remains lit, the colored umbrella starts to spin, my head beggins to ache, and then,...Yup, the program just crashes. The message tells me that cubase had to close, but OSX, and other programs are O.K....Oh the mess I've created.
