You can try verifying and repairing disc permissions. To do this, open the hard drive on the desktop and open the Applications folder. Then open the Utilities folder. In the Utilities folder, click on the Disk Utility icon. Once you are there, make sure your main hard driver is selected in the right column and select the Verify and then the Repair buttons to the right in that order. Also, there should not be any problem with updating to 10.4.10.
