i have a pc with cubase le and my interface is an alesis io2. recently when i open cubase i get the messages "audio engine cannot be started" then "audio engine error:no sound input" then "audio engine error: no sound output." when i try to select the io2 as my interface it repeats these warnings. also when i open audio tracks in cubase i get the message "no asio driver error" and "no record file" and "samplerate could not be set" ive uninstalled and reinstalled the interface and cubase but the same problem persists. please help. im losing sleep over this.

Hello,
Please make sure you have the latest driver downloaded and installed for your specific interface from the Alesis website.
Inside Cubase go to devices, device setup, VST Multitrack, and make sure you have the proper Alesis driver selected and click OK.
Thank you.

ive done all that many times. ive downloaded the drivers off the cd and off of the alesis site. the alesis interface is listed under devices but when i switch to it i get the error message saying "audio engine cannot be started" then "audio engine error:no input" then "audio engine error:no sound output" the weird thing is i can play music through the interface but cubase wont use it as a device.

Hello,
I would suggest contacting Alesis at 401.658.5760 and see if they can troubleshoot the driver.
Thank you.
