I am new to Cubase Essential 4 and have an Edirol ua-700 external sound card with two xlr inputs and a MIDI in and Out. It connects via USB 2.0, but I have been unsuccessful at getting it setup so that Cubase "hears" my microphone and my E-MU XBoard 49. I'm hoping there is someone listening who can easily help me with this.
My audio card shows up in Device Setup/VST Audio System/ASIO drivers pulldown menu, but when I select it and confirm the change, I get the error message, "Can not found the device. Please connect the device." The card has been connected and working since I built this computer!? I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.
Help.

I figured out the above problem. Windows had installed its own generic usb drivers and I had to reinstall the most current divers from Edirol/Roland.
Its seems to be working pretty well. I know I still have much to learn.
My next challenge is to get the monitoring to come out of both my studio monitors. Whether using headphones or monitors, the signal is only coming out of the left channel. When using other programs, like iTunes, no problem, stereo sound.
My requirements for busses is simple, I really only require one out to my monitors and a mono IN for a mic and midi IN for my keyboard controller.
Does anyone have a suggestion for troubleshooting my monitoring issue?

Are you experience this issue with just stuff you have recorded? or is it an issue even when importing an audio file?
