Hi,
Would there be any reason why Cycle Markers, when used during looping must be in effect whilst editing the tempo map?
I note requests on the internet for a globally accessible tempo map similar to how the Markers track currently appears and maybe it might be a good idea and help very much in this particular area but I also find I cannot change the time signature of a piece of music sometimes anyway at certain specific points, such as half way through a bar or measure.
Thanks in advance.
Many regards

I was not quick enough to edit so I will post again since it has taken considerable time in order to diagnose this situation and the above post is merely only a feedback of sorts.
I have found over time that the tempo map functionality has vastly improved even from the first release of the program and I suspect the same would be true for the other flavours of Steinberg products so this may in fact apply to all programs.
In the above post regarding Cycle Markers, I personally don't see why Cycle Markers should effect looping while editing tempo but I also understand this is how the program works generally and there are many areas that Cubase could be improved in relation to context but that is another subject.
Now, as for this tempo map, well it may be interesting but as I am attempting to change the time signature on a bar-by-bar basis, and at times when I go to move a time signature "marker" for want of a better term to the commencement of a whole numbered section, it seems to interpret it as being somewhere in the middle of a particular measure and I find that rather strange.
I don't know if it is somehow related to the following:
http://www.steinbergusers.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5075/an/0/page/1#5075
It would seem that regardless of the timebase in use that if a bar shows as a bar that I should be able to move a "marker" freely onto it and besides not having any erase functionality ie. eraser, other than the delete key itself, insofar as the defacto infoline is concerned, I believe I should be able to drag & drop these time signature changes to literally any point in a piece of music I desire, even if they don't occur at what would be interpreted as being the beginning of a bar and especially when a bar line is present this should be no issue and tempo should be automatically recaculated and applied accordingly.
Thanking you

Hi,
I think this may be a significant development in the issue I am facing with regard to tempo. Allow me to outline briefly what I feel the problem actually is.
I am cycling over a given section of a song which includes several bars or "measures" of music and the time signature changes from 4/4 to 2/4 and 4/4 again, with the next section (not cycled) being 2/4.
When it goes back to the beginning section since 2/4 is what would next be encountered, it reverts to 2/4 then starts up again as 4/4 as it was supposed to do but of course this behaviour is wrong.
I'd really like someone to do something about this at the development level, as well as another slightly unrelated problem and that is when having cycle markers and you are at a point after that designated section, when you hit the |< on the transport bar, it won't go back to the start of the song, nor the start of the cycle marker "section".
Not so intuitive one would think.

Hello,
Sorry to hear about the trouble. Would you post the project as an attachment? This would allow me to see where you have the tempo changes and where you are having trouble. Perhaps screen shots would also be helpful. Thank you.
