Hi all,
Longtime studio guy (analog), totally new to MIDI. I have a couple of basic questions that will probably be pretty simple for some of you:
1. I need to push the volume of one MIDI track - it's VERY quiet and jacked up on the mixer. Since it doesn't operate like a regular waveform track, how do I increase volume easily? 2. I have various FX Channels set up, but apparently MIDI tracks can't see them. Do I always need to use VST effects with MIDI tracks? 3. In one particular song, a quantized MIDI track is playing alongside live bass and drums (which were recorded to the click track live). The quantization obviously doesn't have the slightly behind/ahead-of feel of live instruments - is there a recommended way to adjust the MIDI track to the live bass and drums?
Many thanks for your help. Joe

Hello,
1. Is it from a VST instrument? I would boost the level there with a compressor or just the volume. 2. You need to send the output from the VST instrument to the FX channels. 3. Personally I pull up the cursor to the downbeat of the kick drum, then move the midi accordingly so that it lines up with the drums.
