I am a beginner. Just purchased CB Essential 4. All I want to do is to edit midi files which my Yamaha Disklavier piano creates. When I import the file into my project I am having trouble assigning a piano sound to the track. I go to Devices,VST Instruments, click on the first field and all I get is "No instrument" & "HALionOne". I do not get a drop down list of instrument voices. I click HALionOne and get a window that looks like a radio, but with no voices to select. Can anyone help me from this point? Thanks.

Hello,
If the content for your HalionOne is missing or broken, please follow these steps:
PC
1. Insert your Cubase disc. Explore the disc and go to Cubase for Windows, Additional Content, Soundframe, HalionOne Soundbanks. Copy the HalionOne Soundbanks folder from your disc to your hard drive (we recommend putting it in the C:/Program Files/Common Files/Steinberg folder).
2. Open Cubase, load HalionOne. Right click on HalionOne and choose "Locate Content." Select the HalionOne Soundbanks folder that you copied to your hard drive. Now you should be able to load sounds into HalionOne.
MAC
1. Insert your Cubase disc. Explore the disc and go to Cubase for Windows, Additional Content, Soundframe, HalionOne Soundbanks. Copy the HalionOne Soundbanks folder from your disc to your hard drive (we recommend putting it on your Macintosh HD).
2. Open Cubase, load HalionOne. Control click on HalionOne and choose "Locate Content." Select the HalionOne Soundbanks folder that you copied to your hard drive. Now you should be able to load sounds into HalionOne.
If you have any trouble, please call us at 714-228-3301. Thank you.

Chris,Thanks so much. I've used the info you sent and got the contents for HalionOne. However, before it worked, I had to close Cubase, go to start,Steinberg Cubase Essential 4 and to Cubase application Data Folder and delete all the contents. After that I reopened Cubase and everything worked fine. I got my sound for the VST Instruments. Brad at Cubase told me how to do this. All this was done on my HP desktop computer at my music store.
Another problem: I have Cubase Essential 4 loaded also on my new Dell laptop with Win Vista Home Premium. I did all the above proceedures on my laptop, but no sound, even though all the VST Instruments have assigned sounds from HalionOne. Do you have any suggestions?

Chris, I solved my problem. I clicked on the Inspector tool and up came a window with a fader which was off. I just slid the fader up and there was my sound.
RE: Sound tracks; I have not laid out any as yet. I am just listening to a midi file made on a Yamaha Disklavier and correcting wrong notes in the Key Editor view.
Thanks for all your help. I'll be back again I am sure.
