Hi, I'm running Cubase 4 on a new IMac OS X 10.5.2, 2Ghz Intel Core 2 duo with 2GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM
I have been doing good until I started running Amplitube and SampleTank which are both more CPU intensive. I have run into latency issues with Amplitube while playing electric guitar and finding when I lower the latency value as low as 128 I got crazy pops and clicks. Overall I have noticed pops and clicks.
I want to run at 128 or lower, I am wondering if getting 4GB instead of 2GB would help that at all and alleviate clicks and pops.
Also, if there are any other settings I could make to lower the amount of pops and clicks and be able to record guitar without a delay.
One more thing...If I am playing the guitar at 256 buffer size and there is a slight delay will it match up to the actually click I hear? Are there any additional recommended settings to compensate for a delay in recorded track.
Thanks Tobo

What you are experiencing is a performance issue with how the audio buffer is handling audio at low latency settings. I would first download and install the latest driver update for the Presonus interface.
You could also see if there is a RAM preload setting inside the VST instruments that you are using. 2GB should be enough actual RAM. It would be good if you could raise the RAM preload settings inside the VST instruments if that is an option available. Not all VST instruments have this option.
Hope this helps.
