Hi, I just purchased a Tascam US-144 audio-midi interface that came bundled with Cubase LE-4. I installed this on my PC, which runs Windows XP on an AMD Athlon 62x2 dual core processor, 4600+. 2.40 GHz, 3.00GB of RAM. The sound card is a M-Audio Delta AP-192 ASIO. I have been creating tracks using Sibelius 4. For a Mic, I use a TEAC MM-100 Dynamic. For playback, there are a couple of KRK Rokit 5 speakers.
I hope that gives you enough technical information.
Here's the situation: I was able to import the Sibelius tracks into a Cubase project just fine. The playback comes from the computers speakers or the phones plugged into the computer.
How does one go about adding a vocal track? The mic gets plugged into the TASCAM (MIC IN), the green light goes on and I can hear it through the phones plugged into the TASCAM.
I'm not sure which template to use and when one goes to "add a track" are the vocals considered an audio track, an instrument or something else? Whatever help can be offered will be greatly appreciated OBG

Cubase can only use one ASIO device at a time. You need to connect the monitors to the Tascam and select it's ASIO driver in Device Setup.

Mashedmitten -- it works perfectly. Again, thanks. There's a better than even chance I would have never figured it out. Be well. OBG
