Hello. I am very new to this so here goes. I am sort of in a dilemma here. I am interested in logic for it's sounds but I have a host of vst's and au's that I'm not sure that I really need logics sound at all. I am really looking for a program that is very simple to use, straight forward with most of its features easily accessible. I use to own a mpc 2000. So I am looking for something along those lines. How can Cubase Essential work for me. Thanks.

hello again.
I have read the comparison chart but I'd like to know how does cubase essentially works. I have dabbled with logic and it sometimes seem illogical. It doesn't seem easy or freindly. I suppose I need to be more clearer in what it is Im looking for.
I use to own a MPC and that was easy to use when it came to sequencing. I do not plan on doing any live vocals. I have a lot of virtual instruments. I'm afraid that I will not be able to use lets say a different drum sound on six different midi tracks and then maybe six other midi instruments.

I've used Cubase, Logic and Cakewalk, and IMHO, Cubase is the easiest to use (I found Cakewalk the most convuluted). Everything is very much set up like a recording studio. Once VST instruments are added to the instrument "rack", you can then select to route tracks to a given instrument. It's very straightforward.
