Hi..I have noticed crackles on playback of late..I didnt hear any until I started to get a few tracks and plugins going.It happens while playing throught the track but is not on any track as such.
Also can anyone tell me how to return the magnafing feature while in wave edit...back to a lesser resolution.

Increase your buffer size via the control panel of your soundcard to get rid of the crackles.
The Zoom slider is in the bottom right corner of the Editor.

Thanks.. I looked everywhere except the obvious..I didnt expect the zoom function to be the same in wave edit mode...silly me.
In regard to the buffer size.. do you recomend any particular size or is it dependet on the load the system is under.
( I have a new quade core system with 4 gig of ram so I have not spent any time to optimise the system (as I had to do with my older pc)..do you have any optimisation tips).

The optimum buffer size is usually between 3-5ms or around 128kps. The best thing to do is to lower the buffer setting as low as you can until you start to hear pops or clicks during playback. When you hear that, raise it until you get playback with no pops. Different sound cards perform differently. An RME interface will get you better audio buffer performance than the Zoom for example.

Actually, it's just recording that you should set the buffers low for latency. For Playback and Mixing, you can max it out so you can load more plugs.

I never said that you needed low latency for playback. I recommended raising the audio buffer setting during playback if one hears pops or clicks.
