I just met a guy last tonight at Kinkos while I was finishing up my Demo Cover and he said I need to go to guitar center to get some pluggin that allows you to boost all your levels up without clipping and distortion. He couldn't remember the name of the software but I think he was talking about this, because he mentioned Pro Tools as well

http://www.guitarcenter.com/IK-Multi...19-i1154328.gc

I checked that out and it says you have to have Pro Tools. I read that review in there and that dude said everything that was on my mind and what I need to do so it seems like this would be a good pluggin for me, except it says you have to have Pro Tools and I have Cubase and Wavelab. I wonder if there is something similar to this for about the same price or cheaper?

Hello,

The normalize process in Wavelab 6 does that.

Are you looking for a loudness maximizer plug in?

Thank You,

I'm just trying to get the levels higher without clipping and everything sounding a little better. Basically everything that guy said in that review on that link to that software pluggin. I talked to guitar center today and they said the same thing that it should be the normalize process. You gotta bear with me I'm new to all of this mastering stuff as you can tell.

Another question I was going over all of the VST pluggins again and I noticed the Externalizer again. Is that good to use for my situation since I have really good headphones (Ultrasone DJ1 Pro's) and no monitors? I tried it and it sounds really good through that on a recent batch process I did. I'm going to try playing around with the file some more with that effect enabled at the same time.

Also should I need a brickwall limiter as Wavelab doesn't have one right?

So would I need something like this:

Or would the Izotope Ozone 3 be a better choice?

Hello,

Yes Wavelab 6 has a Peak Limiter which operates like a brick wall limiter.

Thank You,

Well I mean since all the songs I used are already mastered should I really have to go through and edit each one, or would just using Ozone on the whole file be good. I mean I know every song is different and contains different instruments and all that. I recorded it all in -6 DB and it sounds pretty good ofcourse since all I did was play the music on the vinyl and mix it live and then record it so there was no change in quality.

What do you think?
