I'm having an issue with LE1 on startup a pop up display states that LE1 failed to produce reliable sync information - how do I fix?
Also having difficulty controlling VST/Midi Instruments via my M-Audio (USB) keyrig 25?
I'm running on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop w/ MS XP Home, Intel Solo Core Processor. Using the Inspire GT

That message means the Project samplerate and what your soundcard's rate is set to differs. Make sure Release ASIO Driver In Background is un-checked in Device Setup- VST Multitrack.
You need to be WAY more specific re your MIDI problem.

Thanks the "Release ASIO driver in background box" is unchecked. attempting to tweak the sample rate to match soundcard etc.
The Midi/VST issue is I can load up sounds in cubase but when I try to record nothing happens, A) no sound , B) nothing records, c) no notation on the track whatsoever
*as far as VST If I attempt to run something like Kontakt driven player (Adrenaline synth) it will play as a standalone but I cannot controll it with the keyrig25 controller
Running on a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4011, MS Win XP Home, Intel Solo Core Processor

This sync error is likely irrelevant. It is most likely testing the wrong driver. Ignore the test and let Cubase load. Go under Devices-->Device Setup-->VST Multitrack/Audiosystem and choose your Inspire driver. This driver will have no sync issues as it is designed specifically for your interface.
Let me know if any of your other issues resolve once this is addressed.
