Installing Cubase Patch Scripts in Windows Vista
      #4248 - 10/06/07 04:47 AM

I own a Korg Pa1x arranger. I want to install the Korg Patch Scripts into Cubase SX4. How and where do I place the file. Thanks. P.S.: My OS is Windows Vista.

Hello,

Go to the Start Menu, then All Programs, then Cubase 4, then Cubase 4 Application Data Folder. Inside of this folder go to Scripts, Patchnames, Inactive, Korg, and place the script in this folder. Now open Cubase 4 and you should be able to add the Korg as a device in Devices, Midi Device Manager. Thank you.

Hi Chris, you may be the man I've been looking for.
I also have Cubase 4 in Windows Vista 32 and I have had no success whatsoever installing patch banks so they come up in the MIDI device manager. I have a Yamaha S90 and Korg Triton Rack and have tried putting the text file patch banks into just about every directory in the Steinberg, Patchnames, Inactive folder but they just won't show up in the MIDI device manager. When I had Cubase 3 they went in fine into the device manager and were up and running. However I have had no success with Cubase 4 and am thinking maybe there's some bug that needs to be fixed to get these patch banks accessible in Cubase 4. Can you help me solve this problem so I can start using Cubase 4?
Thanks! You can drop me an email on dwgreen@netspeed.com.au or reply to my message here.

Hello,

What version of Cubase 4 do you have installed? What version of Vista are you on?

Try trashing your application data, reopen cubase, shut it down, and then move the text files into the folder. Attach the text files you are using and I will try to import them to my machine. Thank you.

Hi Chris, here are my patch banks. I'm using the most recent version of Cubase 4 updated from the Steinberg website - 4.1.3. I have Windows Vista 32.
I hope you can assist me in getting these up and running.
I was only able to attach one file - it's Yamaha S90 patch bank.

Thanks-David.
