I can't get an input signal when I try to record in 'WaveLab Lite', but I hear audio. I have a 'dell dimension 4600 with a pentium IV processor at 2Gigahertz, 1 gigabyte of RAM, Windows XP Home edition, and an E-MU 0404 Sound Card'. I went to the 'preferences tab' and chose the E-MU sound card, but I still get no signal.

Wavelite is an older free lite version that is probably not going to work with latest hardware drivers and version of the operating system. After switching to the correct driver,make sure you have the correct input selected.

I've been using Wavelab lite for a couple or a few years on the operating system I have. I can edit and play wave files. Aren't my drivers working in that sense. Therefore, if I get an output why can't I get an input? The screen for recording and the meters pop up, and I can hear audio. But the meter doesn't move.

As long as you select the correct input your coming in on it should work. But Wavelab Lite as never been updated and will not be at this point. I would recommend taking a look at Wavelab Essential 6.
