The device setup on the asio driver is presonus 1394.The Firestudio control console mixer has a signal. The CubaseLE also shows a signal on the right of the" write enable" and audio bus 1&2. The problem is that it won't record any signal i'm sending. Please advise, thanks Mike
Btw I'm using a Mac OS X 10.4.11 I got a popup that said," record could not be enabled, no input. Open input window & enable the desired input." How do I open the input window, I cant find it. Where is it? How do I enable the desired input window. Thanks in advance Mike

What kind of Mac are you on?
You activate your inputs at Devices-->VST Inputs. If your input is active then you need to make sure that input is selected for the input to your audio track in the inspector. The inspector column is located to the left of the selected track. It may be currently set to "no bus".

To Kyle Painter: Thank you for the response to my post! I have the i MAC5,1-MAC OSX version 10.4.11 Processor 2.16 GHz. My interface is the FIRESTUDIO 26x26 Firewire interface by Presonus. Bundled with it was Cubase LE 1 OEM Presonus. With the info you supplied I was able to make a rudimentary recording of "this is a test". Now if you would be so kind as to take me to the next step in live recording eg. vocal mic CAD GLX2200 into Mic 1 and guitar into instrument 2 on the FIRESTUDIO I would appreciate it. I,m also concerned about a buzz i,m getting through the KRK Rocket 6 speakers.

Chances of your setup working on an Intel Mac are slim because Cubase LE is not supported or compatible on this kind of Mac. If you recently purchased the Firestudio, Presonus should be able to get you a copy of Cubase LE 4 which will be fully compatible with your Mac.

I'm disappointed that Presonus would bundle a product that is so inferior in quality as to be useless as a recording device! I've struggled to make LE1 work for almost 3 months. Countless opportunities to record our live rehersals have been in vain. So the question is, how should I approch Presonus for an upgrade to Cubase4? Is Steinberg part of the problem? I would have gladly went with Cubase4 originally had I been offered the option! Have a good day 1Mike.

Cubase LE4 has been out for several months now. It takes time for this new software to get into hardware bundles. Also, it takes awhile for older LE1 bundled Presonus products to cycle out of stores. Generally, these third party hardware companies will get customers into LE4 that recently bought a Firepod with LE1. You will have to ask them.

It's now spring and I have got my LE-1 working but only 2 tracks at a time. I'm wondering if the newer LE-4 is much better for home recording and would be good for recording multiple instruments at a time? I would like to overdub, and add tracks to enhance my sound. Thats all for now. thanks Mike

LE 4 has more features and is a current product. It will also allow you to record 4 tracks at a time which is more than LE.
