multiple channel support ?
      #5520 - 02/01/08 03:13 PM

attention any and all users . . I am considering buying a cubase product but need to be assured that because of time restraints I need to be able to load in prior sequences into cubase in one pass. Does cubase allow me to simply arm a track and push play on my hardware sequencer therefore transfering all song midi events onto a single track (including tempo) . ? ? ? I'm hoping I wouldn't have to recreate these sequences one track at a time you dig ? curly

You can record all tracks from your sequencer into one track in Cubase in one pass. You can later separate these using the "dissolve track" command. Which hardware sequencer do you have? I don't believe most output a command for the tempo that Cubase can write to it's tempo track in realtime.

thanks kyle for responding My hardware sequencer is a Roland mc500mkll . . it has worked flawlessly for nearly two decades but it is time now to plan for its retirement as replacement parts are no longer available . . hence I investigate cubase as a possible replacement . . I will hold off on my purchase in anticipation of the new cubase release which I hope will have similar mult channel support curly

Cubase does have multi midi channel support. Does the MC505 have a smart media card? It has been awhile since I have looked at one. If so, you may be able to save your sequences to the card and load them onto your computer with a usb device. This midi file may have the tempo information on it which Cubase should read.
