Unable to load Cubase, During startup the progarm stalls loading at 'Initializing- Midi device manager'. Just hangs. Windows task manager reports - 'Program not responding' Has been ok for last couple of weeks and dont think i've changed any thing. Running Ver 4.0.2 Build 2217, £mb ram, 2.30 Ghz, and windows Vista.!!

What MIDI interface do you have plugged into your system? Are you using MIDI connections on your audio interface or are you connecting your keyboard via USB? Try disconnecting your MIDI interface and see if it still locks up.

I'm having exactlly the same problem, but after I upgrade to 4.1.1 I'm ussing xp, I disconected all my MIDI and also disable the midi car (Frontier Dessign Dakota)any advise?
I need to get the system up and running ASAP.

What audio interface are you using? Does it have MIDI in an out ports on it? If so, disconnect the audio interface and see if Cubase opens at that point. Also, you can go to www.steinberg.net to download and install the latest Cubase 4 update (4.1).
