Using Studio 4.0.2, windows vista, AMD 2.66, 3mb RAM. Having imported WAV drum loops (about 1min 30sec) play back is not tight and is un workable!!. Hope its not my 'new' PC?

If you you play back just one audio loop, does it sound correct? Or is it only when you are layering loops. Are you sure that the loops are at the same bpm?
Are you hearing any distortion or pops/clicks during playback?

it is only 1 drum loop copied and paste several times and it may play through OK but then the next play you can hear the track slightly stalling and stuttering in places!

Did you make the loop yourself? If you cut the end of the loop, you need to make sure that the you snap to zero crossings when you make the cut. If not, you may hear a little click when the loop repeats itself.
If the loops is cut correctly and you still have a problem, try raising the audio buffer setting in your audio interface or sound card software. This can also help reduce pops or clicks during playback.
