I am curious why I am getting a good sounding signal when I monitor the sound going in and then when I play it back it sounds a little distorted and crackly I am using the DAW to ST button on, the C-R source select as DAW, running 2 monitors from the C-R outputs, and I checked the gain LED's are not going over when I record. The mixer level of the Cubase track is at the default setting??? I don't know what is causing this? Any suggestions? thanks. --Steffanie

Hello,
Inside Cubase please go to devices, device setup, vst multitrack, and make sure you have the proper asio driver selected for your audio interface or soundcard. What audio interface or soundcard are you using? Mac or PC? What operating system are you running?

the asio driver selected is ASIO mLAN, operating system is Windows Vista on a PC, and the soundcard is a Realtek High definition audio. Now the only connection I have between my computer and the n8 is the firewire connection I do not have anything connected to the output of the sound card is this correct? --Steffanie Beauchamp

Hello Steffanie,
I would suggest going to www.asio4all.com and downloading their universal asio driver. Then, inside Cubase AI go to devices, device setup, vst audio system, and switch your asio duplex driver to your ASIO4ALL driver. This will be better for pro audio applications then the generic built in realtek card.
Thank You,
