Halion SE
      #5110 - 12/28/07 06:44 AM

I would like to know if anyone else is using the Halion SE.
The only sounds I can play on it are the sounds it came with, (The Composer Set)
I select a program, click on load instrument and the built-in browser pops up,ok ,then I click on a file I want to load ,and it will not load. There is also no drag& drop function, even on The Composer Set. Am I alone here?
Someone please let me know, thanks much, Jim.

Thanks for the reply, I have tryed to open this Percussion Kit that has a lot of native/African type drums in it,I really kinda need these sounds for a current project(wav file) format.I have also tryed to open Hal-Phat, Hal-soundscape and many others with no luck.
Any help on this would be deeply appretiated so I can put this to rest. If The Composer Set is the only thing the Halion SE will play,so be it, I'll have to get an additional sampler, I just need to move on.
Any ideas would be great, thanks much, Jim.

Percussion Kit is in wav file format.
If you could tell me how to load these files into the Halion SE so I can use them, that would be a great starting point for me. Thanks much, Jim.

Sorry, must have over looked the post yesterday. You can simply drag and drop the audio file to a key on Halion SE. If you drag and drop several files they will map out chromatically.

That function does not work.
The only thing you can do with Halion SE is play the Composer Set it came with and you cant even drag & drop that. You have to load it into the instrument.
There are other people having the same problem in the Cubase.net Forums ( What sounds can the Halion SE play)
The Halion SE must have a bug in it.A quick fix would be nice. Also a reply A.S.A.P. would be appreciated, Jim.

rnb47 is right, importing and auto-mapping samples in wave format does definitely not work. I only bought Halion SE because of this feature (I consulted the manual before buying).

So I'm going to try Shortcircuit or Independence next as Steinberg is not able - or willing ? - to fix this.

I really like the feel of Steinberg products but this is a darned cheek!

Im still waiting for a response, this has been going on too long. At best, I feel this has been a lack-luster attempt at customer service.

I suppose this promised feature does definitely not work (and never has). That's the reason why they do not respond to this problem. Or everyone at Steinberg is busy programming Cubase Essential 4

Hi jeffdeno, don't get me too wrong: I was just kidding. I already know that they don't answer very quick.

But I really think that this feature is not included!

Hey Unifaun, I've been trying to check out Shortcircuit, any tips on getting it up and running.I tryed to join their forum today to try to gain some know-how.
I registered & everything but for some reason it wont let me login, maybe it has to do with my cookies allowing it.
Any help on that would be great, thanks much, Jim.

Hello jeffdeno,

now that winter NAMM 2008 at Anaheim is over and Cubase update patch 4.1.2 is out there could be time now to answer our question concerning the (non-)abilities of Halion SE!

Seeing that you refuse to take care of this matter, you leave me no choice but to take further action.
Your misrepresntation of the Halion SE has caused me hrs. of frustration, all the while beleiving in Steinberg only to find out I was working with a faulty product(Halion SE)
I demand that you offer me a free download version of the Halion 1 or one that at least works properly.
Otherwise I will be contacting the BETTER BUISNESS BURROW.

Hello Mr Deno,

how can I solve my own Halion SE problems?

I'm quite disappointed.

Stefan
