one button recording problems

Having trouble with the one button record feature.I cant get it to work at all.I try doing as the manual says to do but it keeps recording thru the markers and wont stop like it should.This is the reason i purchaced this software so i need this working. Any special settings I need to recheck? some help would be great!

are you setting punch in punch out points with the locators?
