Importing Video
      #2903 - 04/14/07 11:20 PM

I'm working on a film score and having problems importing video. It seems to be extracting the audio fine, but when it gets to the video, everything freezes and stops responding. I've tried this both on my laptop and on a higher powered desktop.
It's a quicktime file that is about 770MB, which I think might be part of the problem.
I have the video player set to quicktime file, so that shouldn't be an issue.
I wonder also if it might be the computers I'm using.
Help???

Hi,
Is this particular video the only one giving problems? Have you tried importing any other quicktime file? If other quicktime files are opening and working properly then perhaps there might be a problem in the video file itself. Also what I have experienced is that if a video file is split at any point in nuendo project, it freezes the video from the point it is split....se if this is what's happening to you.

Do you know what the encoding was on the QT file? I find the best success with small resolutions (320 x 240) and a simple compression (sorenson, DV, MPEG, etc).

hey all,

i'm once again having problems importing quicktime files into nuendo 3. this time it's a 9MB file (under 2 minutes). i tried it on protools and it imported perfectly within seconds. in nuendo, it gets through the first stage fine, then freezes when generating thumbnails.

is this happening to anyone else? any ideas on how i can resolve this?

thanks
tal

Hello,

What version of Nuendo 3 do you have installed? What compression was the QT file created with?
