What to do if you lost Dongle/Key
|
Hi,
What can you do if you lost the dongle/key for Cubase and no longer have the receipt of purchase? Will the keys being sold on ebay with cd's work? (This is for Cubase 3sx--sorry! didn't see a forum for Cubase 3.) The people at Sweetwater told me I'd need to get a code directly from Steinberg if I got a new key, and that I couldn't do that without proof of purchase.

Hello,
I'm sorry but there is not a discounted replacement for lost or stolen keys. Here is Germany's policy statement on the matter, http://knowledgebase.steinberg.de/96_1.html#314
The blank keys are for virtual instruments and will not help in this scenario. We do not provide replacement activation codes either. Thank you.
