Cant install Cubase LE4 on PC

I tried to install cubase Le4 on my PC wind.XP it will get me started then it locks up and dont complete

When does it lock up during the installation? What is the last thing you see loading? Thank you.

its when I install it. It will take me to the message requesting USB device then it says disregard that then I accept the license agreement then click next and then locks up their

Do you have Windows Installer version 3.1 installed?

The PC is connected to the internet, right?
Try copying the install DVD contents to the desktop and running it from there.

I do have internet hook up. I put it on my desk top and when I tried to install it said the folder path cubase LE 4 for windows contains an invalid character

Try booting Windows in Safe Mode, and then install from the DVD. Thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem. Im at work now on break
but will try again when I get home this evening. I tried
for 10 hours Yesterday. I Only have 504 Mb of Ram instead
of the 512 that it says is the Minimum, I thought that this
might be my problem. I origianaly thought that it would install but run with some limitations. Could this be the
problem?

Safe mode didn't work either. I also can't find the serial
number. I have a folder named Stienburg but it is empty.
The install get to a screen that shows files moving from
folder to folder and it stays there. I have left it for
over 6 hours and the computer just stops responding to
anything and I have to shut it down. I then get found
knew hardware messages, if I try to install the computer
locks down. Any suggestions?
