help recording

hello, i am a newbie with this products, i have a tascam US-428 running with cubase le in macOS X leopard, and when its all connected and running, the cubase can register the volume of my guitar when i played it, but when i try record something it just record nothing.
the inputs are ok, can anyone could tell me a clue to make things work??

Hello,
Inside Cubase, please go to devices, device setup, vst multitrack, and make sure your Tascam asio driver is selected? Also be sure you have the latest device driver downloaded for your US-428 interface from Tascam's website.
