4 Upgrade
|
|
Attempting to upgrade to 4 from 3.1 on a G4 dual 1Khz, it would not install. The installer comes up but stops at that point. Installing on a iMac and Mac Pro worked so it's not a disc problem. I guess it's time to move on from the G4?

Are you connected to the internet? If so, disconnect and see what happens. Also, remove any protection keys until prompted. Let me know what happens.
Thanks!

Thanks for your help. I did what you suggested, no change. Install does not start, not a crash, and you can close Installer. Could this be a problem with the Apple Installer program, not a current version or such?

What version of Mac OS X are you on with the G4? Thank you.

Hello,
N4 is not support for 10.3.9. This is probably part of the problem. Also the dual 1 ghz G4 is probably not powerful enough to run N4. You may want to consider upgrading to a new system at this point. Thank you.
