Recording Rewire projects
|
|
I've always recorded using module sequenced sounds to DA tape - so this is all new. Question: When for ex. I am using sounds from Reason 4 soft synths and I have a sequenced song - done and mixed/recorded on Cubase - I noticed that when I close Reason - with the Cubase recorded events still in place - no sound happens even though the meters still "jump." I guess I expected the sounds from Reason to have been literally "recorded" to Cubase to then be played with Reason closed - similar to how Cubase would actually record a voice or guitar. Do I have to change it (Reason sounds) to an audio file? If so, where and how? Lastly, when a song is done - it all gets "boiled down" to a wav file - then to CD? Again, if so, where and how? Thank you.

If it's still midi, you have to have the VST instrument activated as the input to hear the voice. If you have recorded that midi track to analog, you shouldn't need any synth voice activated, but either way there are several little ticky things that can prevent you from hearing the output. You can fix those by trial and error without much trouble.

Hello,
When you are ready to export the project go to File, Export, Audio Mixdown. Inside Cubase Studio 4 go to Help, Documentation, open the Operations Manual and read the section on ReWire.
Thank You,
