skipping like crazy

Hi again, so, i have 9 audio tracks with only a little reverb on the vocals and guitars, and i upped my memory to 2GB and deleted enough hard drive space to open up 60GB specifically for this reason, but when I try to play, it skips and stalls like crazy. Any suggestions?
Also, on another note, I attempted to mixdown the song to a WAV file, but I get an error that simply says "an error has occured." ugh! please help!

Hello,
What kind of audio interface are you using to record?
And please make sure your left and right project locaters (little triangles at the top of the project window) are set correctly with the left triangle facing right and the right triangle facing left with the blue line spanning across the entire project you wish to export.
