System 4, SL 2.2 and M14 on OS X 10.4.10 problems!

Yes, this is an ancient version of Cubase now, and I'm trying to run it on a new version of OS X. Is this a lost cause? I'm desperate to start recording. Please tell me there's a simple download or driver out there that will help!

I have the Cubase System 4 that came with the M14 and the SL 2.2 version 37.

I know that when this first came out it was meant to work with os X 10.2. I'm now running 10.4.10. There are some updates on the Steinberg page, but they're meant to work with Cubase 3 only.

It seems that my computer is not recognizing the Steinberg M14.

Do I need a new driver for the m14? Is it hopeless to try and run SL 2 on Mac's 10.4.10?

I uninstalled Cubase and the m14 and have started all over again. I can't get any signal from the m14 to Cubase, because (like I said) it doesn't seem to recognize it. I can't set any inputs (it says they are "pending").

On the M14 panel the "gain input" section won't light up. And under my sound system preferences, when I select the M14 it says there is no input control for this device (i.e. no gain). Also, the m14 won't turn "on" in its panel unless I have my system preferences "sound" folder open. Weird, huh?

AAAAAAhhhhhh!
