My hope was that at least with the inbuilt soundset (HalionOne), that it wouldn't matter were I to use a MIDI fader or a Channel Fader and that each would adjust the volume of a given "track" in more-or-less the same way.

I understand there is a difference but sometimes the former method has little or no effect and I don't know the reason why.
