Running a Boss DR 770 drum machine midi in and out thru Lexicon Lambda USB interface. Planned on inputting basic drum patterns without dedicating to the sounds. I see the midi info, I can edit it, I can play it back thru the awesome internal microsoft GS synth, but I assign the channel out to the lambda and it will not play back to trigger the drum machine. I recorded a guitar track and I can get audio out, though only to one side at the moment. I also get the intermittent problem "The ASIO driver Lambda ASIO could not be started!" The audio works for a while then the prompt comes up and I have to reset it in the device setup and it works for a while. My set up is Cubase LE 4 Dell laptop pentium 1.86Ghz processor 2 GB RAM Lexicon Lambda USB interface

Hello,
Please go to www.lexiconpro.com and download and install the latest device driver available for your Lambda interface.

thanks, v2.5 took care of lambda ASIO dropping off, I found the stereo monitor button hidden in the front middle area of the unit but MIDI playback still in-op thru USB, kicks right in when internal synth is selected as output. I have verified cable is good, unit triggers from a different controller, and correct midi channel is selected. I have ignored midi device manager, as it appears not relevant to the trigger issue. Could it be a hardware issue? I happen to live in the SLC area right down the street from Sandy, wonder if I can stop in and they could bench test the Lambda unit?

Hello,
I would contact Lexicon and see if it is a known issue or see if they have an updated driver that is not yet on their site. I would also try troubleshooting the issue using another MIDI controller and see if the same problem occurs.
Thank You,

As verified by a Lexicon tech, it turns out the output voltage of the midi info of the Lambda is slightly too low for the Boss DR-770 drum machine to recognize. The next model up, Omega, worked fine with it. Solved, but not fixed. They must adhere to different midi standards (joke)...
