One other question -
I have been drooling over a mac. So, I tried to install Cubase 4 on a MacBook Pro of a friend of mine (It's an intel-based one).
It installed fine, and came up fine - I opened one of the demo projects from the CD and it opened fine, but the Disk utilization on playback went to 100% such that everything was really sluggish.
If I install from a v 4.0.1 Cubase 4 CD, is this running a binary optimized for Intel? I'm not that familiar with how all of this works on the Mac - just wondering if those with a Mac have any experience they could share.
Thanks! Jeff

Jeff:
Thanks for writing. You will want to install the free updates at www.steinberg.net. There, you will find updates that are continually improving the MAC and PC versions. I have 4.1.2.851 running on my MAC Book Pro and it barely touches the CPU. Runs smoothly.
Cubase 4.1.2.851 Update Mac OS X [Feb 4th, 2008] Officially compatible with Mac OS X Leopard (version 10.5) Requires an already installed Cubase 4 version on your computer! It is recommended to install the latest Syncrosoft License Control Center after finishing the update installation.
