Reducing WAV file sizes after edits...
      #6881 - 05/12/08 11:12 PM

Hey, ya'll...

Is there a way after I have completed my edits to a project and chopped out all of the parts I don't want, deleted overlaps, removed unused media files... to then basically 'rebuild' new smaller WAV files for each track that contain only the audio I've kept, thereby reducing the media pool folder size?

After I'm sure I have my 'golden' content for each track, it would be nice to throw away all of the rest, including all of the prior edit histories.

THANKS!
Jeff

Save Project To New Folder choosing to minimize files will do that.

Cleanup will also, but you need to be very careful as you could delete files that will kill the OS if you don't point it to a specific project folder. This should be practiced on a copied project to avoid losing work.

You can bounce the files which you can then create new files in the pool. then you can run your clean up and remove everything but the bounced files. You can condense things down that way.

Thanks
