The pool is cluttered with several audio clips that are no longer being used in the project. Do I have to remove them one at a time to clean it up?

All you have to do is go to Pool > Remove Unused Media . You will be given the options of either moving them to the trash where they can be permanently deleted, or just removing them visibly from the pool.
